I have a verbal offer from Salesforce, and 2 written offers from Deloitte and a startup for Senior Solutions Engineer/ Consultant roles. The team at Salesforce does not have a headcount now but said they are expecting one in Dec/Jan and can forward a written offer then. I really like the role at Salesforce so willing to wait, but that will mean I will lose the others. But I want to retain the negotiating power from these counter offers. Any advice?
Don’t trust salesforce. I accepted a verbal offer from them only to find out they retracted the offer without letting me know. As a result I waited a month because they lied to me and told me the written offer was delayed due to different excuses. The recruiter and hiring manager both stopped responding after 3 weeks, I only figured it out when I saw the job got reposted.
Sorry to say that, but don't trust Salesforce. My verbal offer just disappeared. It also happened to at least two of my colleagues who "almost got hired" for the same role. What does that mean they don't have a headcount? They don't have a clear situation in terms of bringing new people on board. The decision of your Salesforce potential manager depends on his manager and so on. If anything changes, they won't even remember your name, trust me. Don't waste your life on waiting for verbal offers to clarify.
Recently learned November is the big headcount reshuffle based on Marc’s V2MOM. Maybe they get one, maybe they don’t.
Oh that’s a tricky situation then. I have a strong offer from a another employer but SF is honestly my top preference. The hiring manager and recruiter keep assuring that they have headcount coming in dec/ jan. Any alternate way that they can finalize the offer now?
No
I believe new fiscal year and hence HC planning is passed down in Jan
Did you end up getting the written offer?
Any updates on this?
i had 4 phone rounds and an onsite.
Also, they were able to secure headcount in January but themselves pushed back since H1B transfer on premium processing was suspended. Now it is unlikely they will have a headcount in near future

Can you send one to this side?!
If only transferring offers was a thing, would gladly do :)
