Would you rather work for Salesforce or Amazon Vancouver? Seems like Salesforce pays more but they have very few positions available in Vancouver, and there's very little information about their office here. Also looking for Salesforce referral.
Iāve worked in Amazon and is currently working in Salesforce. I find hell lot of a difference-salesforce culture is just opposite to amazon as stated by Sarzamin. Iād definitely recommend salesforce. IM me if youāre looking for referral.
Can I DM you?
Yes
I worked at Amazon and now I work here for years. I like both but would stay here longer than at Amazon
What's the TC like at salesforce for Sde2 and sde3?
Look at levels.fyi, its got good data for salesforce
Not really a āengineeringā office for SF in Vancouver. One of my team is based there and never goes in because it is all Sales, etc. youāll have to find a Cloud that is remote friendly
Where do you work then? From home?
Yep, you can get a seat in the office but itās sorta noisy in most non-engineering offices. Not all teams support remote workers though, so that makes it more difficult
People saying salesforce pays more are probably wrong. Salesforce pays higher base, but from a TC standpoint Amazon stock grant and refreshes will trump salesforce over a few years of working.
I would work for Salesforce even if I get paid less than Amazon. Culture of both companies is just opposite. At Amazon Customer is #1, shareholders second and employees are just fungible resources. Salesforce treats their employees as family. Money you make for Amazon, part of it goes to a dickhead; money you make for Salesforce, part of it goes to charity.
Agree š
However, the brand name of Amazon does wonders for your resume. Having a FAANG is a different league on its own. Not that salesforce is a worse company by any means, but itās not a FAANG. Source: get at least 2 LinkedIn inmails already from recruiters trying to poach
