Salesforce vs Amazon

Nov 27, 2019 23 Comments

Would you rather work for Salesforce or Amazon Vancouver? Seems like Salesforce pays more but they have very few positions available in Vancouver, and there's very little information about their office here.

Also looking for Salesforce referral.

  • I would work for Salesforce even if I get paid less than Amazon. Culture of both companies is just opposite. At Amazon Customer is #1, shareholders second and employees are just fungible resources. Salesforce treats their employees as family.
Money you make for Amazon, part of it goes to a dickhead; money you make for Salesforce, part of it goes to charity.

I’ve worked in Amazon and is currently working in Salesforce. I find hell lot of a difference-salesforce culture is just opposite to amazon as stated by Sarzamin. I’d definitely recommend salesforce. IM me if you’re looking for referral.

I worked at Amazon and now I work here for years. I like both but would stay here longer than at Amazon

Since ltms maps to sde3 at Amazon and Amazon pays 260k, salesforce seems to pay a lot less

Recently joined LMTS make 250-350K in SF. I have 2 DP and one is myself. Not sure about Seattle/Vancouver.

Not really a ‘engineering’ office for SF in Vancouver. One of my team is based there and never goes in because it is all Sales, etc. you’ll have to find a Cloud that is remote friendly

Yep, you can get a seat in the office but it’s sorta noisy in most non-engineering offices. Not all teams support remote workers though, so that makes it more difficult

So no engineers work from the Vancouver office? Everyone works from home?

People saying salesforce pays more are probably wrong. Salesforce pays higher base, but from a TC standpoint Amazon stock grant and refreshes will trump salesforce over a few years of working.
