Hi guys, I've decided to move out of my current job with IBM (<1 yr after master's). I've cleared the interview of Sam's club.com team and had a call with recruiter regarding the offer. Here are the details of the offer. Base: hasn't been revealed but I was told that we offer a minimum of 110k$ in Sunnyvale. She promised I'd get around the average. Stock : 20k over 4 yrs bonus : 16% No sign on bonus. This sounded like a low ball offer compared to my current pay (110k base and 10k sign on for Austin). How much base can I ask for? Also, I'd like to know if there is pay parity between Walmart labs and Sam's tech/Walmart e-commerce? Please share your thoughts and help me out.
Stock is very low. Ask for 40k over 4 years atleast. Ask for 120k base. 16% bonus is fine for 1 yoe post MS.
Walmart has a strict level range I think this is standard. Ask for more sign on
130k minimum base. This is fresh grad base. You should ask beyond this. :)
Is it for Walmart labs? The recruiter said we offer a minimum of 110k. I thought the pay for Sam's tech is less compared to Walmart labs.
Is it Sunnyvale based?
130k for fresh MS grad? I don’t think so. I know PHD there with a year of experience who got this kind of base. You might be able to get more sign on.
PhD Sunnyvale will be around $155K base
Walmart sucks at pay, compared to other sfo companies. I was offered a similar package $110k + 16% + $6k shares/yr. I successfully negotiated it to 135k base. It was walmart labs, in San Bruno.
Min is 110k but the range should be 110-145.. they should cross average for sure. You can’t be able to negotiate for year end bonus or stock. So negotiate for joining bonus. No diff in Walmart and SamsClub. Both are same. In fact you see clean code and learning in sams than Walmart because of maturity and talent in sams are better than Walmart... if you want scale; walmart is better... please note all these things are applicable based on your projects..
Awesome. Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it. I've done enough negotiation and I'm happy with what they've come up with. Waiting for offer letter to come.
That’s real low
Yeah
