San Francisco Shut Down
Anyone else in SF right now? What's going on?
This must be coming in other locales soon. It’s unfortunate it’s coming to this, but our systems / technology isn’t as great as we may have thought. We aren’t able to test fast enough and therefore we aren’t able to track those with the virus in a fashion that Korea did. Without this, our only option is to shut down

I heard LA county will follow the procedure from next week. This will become a shit show.. Our company's (PE) portfolio companies are shutting their production and services and LPs are getting crazy..
Do you have a reasonable source for this? Have heard a lot of rumors this days so wondering how serious we should take conjecture like this?

Wuhan style lock down, I expect similar measures in NYC and maybe LA (all social gatherings incl gym, restaurants, and bars already banned). Can't say the writing wasn't on the wall with China, South Korea, Singapore, Italy
I wouldn't go as far as saying its Wuhan-style lockdown as it is less coercive - the "shelter in place" will be enforced by the police but its not like they will send you to a camp if you go out. I will say this is the most restrictive measure seen in the U.S. thus far, however, and it's hard to see other places that are hit harder not follow suit soon.
Does it mean you also have to get permission first before you can leave your apartment like it was in China the last two months?
