Does anyone know anything about TC for a Director, Legal at Facebook? I'm in the final stages of interviewing and would like to get ready for negotiations. Appreciate any advice!

  • "Def lower than tech" is right. Got the initial offer nbrs: $230 base, 30% bonus, $300k grant over 4 years.
So, year 1 TC of about $375k. Who knows if it's a low-ball offer or fair...

I’m currently in the process for an AGC role (non director level) and at the outset the recruiter indicated that comp was $240base, 20% bonus, and $295 RSUs over 4 years.

  • Not trolling; If I did, would've used higher nbrs:)
Dir, AGC. Pushed back a little. Grant went up to $500K, and a sign on bonus $50K. No move on base. It is what it is. Hope the stock doesn't tank.

Ask for 1M RSU, settle for ~ 800K. I still think you are lowballed. Are you one of those lawyers who never argued a case or taken it through mediation? My guess is you have less than 5YOE.

Whatever it is, it’s not worth the cost of your immortal soul which you’re selling by working at the single most societal damaging company in history.

  • So, the recruiter came back after confirming references and added $50k to the grant. Said she negotiated hard on my behalf. I technically never countered yet. Should I just take this offer or try countering at least once? It seems that base is non-negotiable but maybe I can ask for sign-on or a larger grant? They claim there is another candidate waiting...

So this is standard recruiter nonsense. You are their first choice right now, nobody ever got rejected for attempting to negotiate.

    • β€œNegotiated hard on your behalf...”

Lol I’ve heard that one before. The recruiter is there to help you until the negotiation stage. Listen to Blind and don’t undersell yourself. Maybe the TC gods be with you.

How many legal directors are there in FB? Don't mean to call out the OP, but isn't it stupid, aka professionally suicidal to mention such details? I mean how difficult would it be to identify the specific user just using LinkedIn??

Blind point I get, but I did think sharing TC was against most company policies... I mean why on earth do we have blind otherwise?

    • It’s not against FB’s policy to share your comp. It’s also illegal for FB to prohibit you from sharing your comp in CA
