Keep in mind that diversity (demographic) of the students in the school is also a rating factor. So for example if the school is mostly from one or two races, the diversity factor goes extremely down, which brings the whole rating down. e.g. my sister lives in Seattle where most of the population in that area are rich top tech directors or real estate investors, with an average TC of 1M. The school rating is 7, although the school is amazing (staff, scores, etc.) because the diversity factor is 2 (out of 10), because the population is basically all caucasian Americans.

Hmm great schools have changed their rating system. Test scores are still high in these schools.

Yeah schools in my area dropped by 1. I think scores didn’t change but they raised the weight of equity to 33% in my area, and weight of test score dropped to 29%, which doesn’t make any sense to me.
