I gave it a shot. Thoughts on list below? What am I missing? Not getting specific comp levels for each, but thought this would be useful as a general guide. Tier 1 (A) Google Facebook Tier 1 (B) Amazon Microsoft (lvl 64+) Apple Uber Airbnb Oracle Lyft Salesforce eBay Hulu Twitter Dropbox Tableau Tier 2 Zillow Redfin Best Buy (innovation center) Concur Sonos HBO Adobe Qualtrics Snap Docusign Pinterest Groupon Cisco OfferUp Expedia Tier 3 T Mobile F5 Alaska Airlines REI Disney Nordstrom Starbucks Zulily Big Fish Rover WeWork Premera Samsung Philips

Uber is Tier 1? Laughable. They belong in Tier 2 at best.
My buddy works there and makes great money, so I went off personal experience on that one. Maybe he just got lucky? Their IPO this year will decide tier 1 or 2 though, haha
Makes sense. I think overall their Total Comp COULD be good, but they need to go public first. Their base was like $140k for a “senior” role.
Expedia should be Tier 3. Their TC is a joke and I got down level when I interviewed. Arrogant pricks. Don't worry I'm in a better place now where my talents are appreciated. Tier 1 can be split to 1A and 1B. For example Google and FB pays better than MSFT and AMZN at comparable levels.
Agreed. Done.
second that TC is not competitive at all
WeWork is in Seattle too? Damn, I wish I could short that company already.
OfferUp is a solid Tier 2 company FYI.
Agreed! Added it
FWIW, I've had offers from Nordstrom, Disney and tmobile and they are much lower than what I'm making at Expedia. I got pretty deep into an opportunity with HBO, and the feeling I got is that we were on par. But whatever, the bands are pretty wide here so maybe in general it's true.
Valve is decent, but no PMs there.

Dude, why do you put Microsoft in tier 1? Just because company is doing well doesn't put it in tier 1. Ebay pays way more than Microsoft. So I would argue ebay is better.
eBay ... Pays more than Microsoft? Say what?
