Is Amazon Seattle hiring slowing due to upcoming HQ2? Due to more efficiency in operations requiring fewer workers? Or better retention after the (hit piece) article in the NYT? Or due to something completely unrelated?
Winter is coming
Heard about 2000 new Dev positions opening in Austin in early 2019 .. It’s trump era biatch ! Time to move all new positions to those red states ...
Lol
Where did your hear that? The HQ2 is still undecided, isn't it?
Husband works at Amazon. They are consolidating and defragging after huge bursts hiring over the summer. Also, hiring slows at this time of year.
It didn't slow last year at this time. Maybe loops got hard to schedule but the positions were open. There's a perception that we hired too fast, and failed to manage out the low performers. That's being fixed.
This is the first winter that we've slowed hiring
Link to the article? Otherwise it seems that uninformed people are shocked that hiring slows down at the end of the year
