Considering relocation. dominant factors to guide me where to move: affordable housing price, living condition and short commute. If I want to buy a townhouse/condo which is close to major tech companies, which city has generally lower housing price, Seattle or Boston? any other concern about the two cities that i should be aware of? PS I am not afraid of snow so winter in Boston is not an issue for me.
Seattle. No question. The Boston tech community is just a collection of poorly executed companies run by arrogant former management consultants and finance people. Wayfair is a good example of this. There are many many others.
Boston is a nice city. but there are not many tech companies. unless you live in the city or cambridge, commute is pretty bad. if you take the T (subway), walking in the winter can be painful. Snow isn’t a problem. Most ppl work from home on snow days.
Not many tech companies? Apple, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Facebook... to name a few
Something to keep in mind is that these are satellite offices so harder to get promoted. Best is to grow as much as you can at headquarters or at large offices (like nyc), then transfer to satellite.

Seattle if you aren’t bothered by the gloomy sky in winter. Boston if you don’t mind the snow in winter. Both cities are expensive, but Seattle has more tech landscape
Yeah, I've lived in both and I have to say the Seattle gloom gets to me way worse than the snow/cold. The sun just disappears for almost 9 months. Seattle tech landscape is better, but Boston is the better city.
