This is just a complex design problem and the trick is the chip is highly vectorized so they get away with turning off compute units or memory cells when they have defects. Intel has been doing that since the early 2000s with cache. The company and the idea are kinda cool but I wouldn't call it cutting edge innovation.
It’s a company that brags about how we do “x” not what “x” gives them in terms of results.
