Sending InMail to introduce myself include my resume or not?

I am trying to introduce myself to people in my field in hopes of snagging an interview at a tech company at some point. Is cold InMail-ing a good idea on LinkedIn? Or shall I promote myself via Facebook or LinkedIn ads? Non tech TC 98k

Only send resume after you’ve heard back.

Start with alumni first. It’s not as awkward and if they respond or agree to refer, you can send a resume. Sending it out of the blue is a hard no.

Look for people who have “we’re hiring”, etc in their Linkedin title and send them a short direct message. If they aren’t a recruiter, they are probably a hiring manager (see if their team is listed for relevance) or someone chasing referral $$$ (best case). Easy to find such people in each company with linkedin premium that lets you send out of network messages. The success rate was really high when I used this approach.

How do you get to be paid for referrals for FANG companies? How for others? Do you have to sign directly with each of their HRs?
