Hello, My friend is expecting an offer from Qualcomm, San Jose in the wireless division for the senior engineer position. She has 3 yoe. What's a good offer for this role? Also what's the range in terms of base, rsu and signing bonus? We would really appreciate some data points to help her negotiate properly. She has been lowballed before and it makes her depressed to be on blind. So, I am helping her out by posting from my account. Update: (she got the following offer) Base - 132k Rsu - 60k over 3 years Signing bonus - 35k Blind obligation - Her tc is 160k and mine is 180k.
She'd also get a cash bonus in December worth about 10 to 15% of her base, but it'll be prorated (September to August is the review period), so it might only be another 10K or so. Many other companies in the Bay will yield (much) higher TC. Why is she targeting Qualcomm? As you can see, it doesn't pay particularly well.
Thanks a lot for the information! She is interested in the work the team is doing. What would be absolute top of the band offer for her level?
Guys, any more inputs or opinions?
Did you get the offer?
She is still waiting for the offer.
do you have the offer yet ? base is 125-150k for non-core team, core team base is 15% higher bonus is 10-12% and RSU is 25-35k
Thanks a lot for the information! She is still waiting for the offer.

125 base 25 sign on 25 stocks has been average for sr position
Thanks a lot for the response. Do they also offer retention bonus? What would be the top of the band offer? This is way lesser than her current tc :(
If you have a phd you have more negotiation power here, you could try getting other offer and negotiate too, i have heard cases where sr start at 135 base, 35 stocks, 25 signon. I have not heard of any retention bonus in this group
