Senior Engineer compensation @proofpoint
Hi, Recruiter approached me for a job opening in Proofpoint Sunnyvale. Wanted to know the salary range . Please split base, RSU , bonus etc. Thanks
This is like second or third time seeing this company name mentioned this week.
Yeah, because it's a stable enterprise cybersecurity company. Other companies are operating by burning a lot of debt investment cash. When recession comes, I am not sure if their bets will pay off. Proofpoint's revenues have been growing 30% and work life balance is amazingly good. Male/female ratio is pretty good too for majority of the teams.
Interesting. I was into security industry but not anymore after seeing most of them sell mediocre products.

Hmm ok. Intuit glassdoor figures look very low. Are u staff or senior engineer there? Staff software engineer at Intuit has the same comp as Senior software engineer at proofpoint.

It's all over the map. We aren't standardized like the big guys.
Yeah based on the role you play or the team, we are literally all over the map. Can you atleast specify what role or the kind of work you did at Intuit? If you can prove your value, your TC per year can go past 200K. I know a fresh grad making 120k TC and someone with 3 years exp making 120K TC as well. He was able to prove his worth. The other person is more passive and took what they got.
This is standard practice in Bay area.
For 15 YOE, package 200 base + 120K Rsu(4 years vesting) + 25 bonus

True that. 10 am to like 5 pm with an hour of lunch in between. Also, a lot of engineers do work from home on Friday.
Reading this is 2023, all employees work from home. WLB is a great, no issues, no layoffs need to learn Hindi or mandarin for some teams but hey if you can learn python then these are not hard
