Evaluating an offer from a post series B startup.

Title is Sr Growth Analyst
Base 150k
Equity stake currently valued at 55k over 4 years. Trying to get info on what % of the company this represents, but I believe it’s about 0.008% (the company is valued at 630M)

The offer seems low compared to where the markets at. Especially on the equity side.

I have 5 YOE—2 in a senior role—and my current TC is ~170k although I’m not very happy in my current role.

This start up has an all start investor list with most of the big guys involved in both the A and B round.

My concern is the valuation—apparently they do 2m in ARR but have a 630m valuation!? That seems absolutely absurd to me? But I have no clue about valuations of Series B companies either.

I think the product is good, there’s def a product market fit; I’ve talked to folks who are familiar with the company and say it’s solid. I just feel the offer is quite low and also sort of feel like I’d be more than just a senior analyst. I don’t know if it’s a wise choice to go from senior analyst to senior analyst and not try to uplevel.

What side of the business are you on? Sales or marketing? Or?

That TC seems spot on to me. You could always ask for higher title

      OP
Would be on the marketing side.

For context I have 2 data points from other start ups:

Startup A: 150-185k base, 15-20% bonus quarterly, and an equity stake

Startup B: 135-170k base, equity stake (likely lower as they’re series D).

Market is really hot right now
