Just spoke with a recruiter at ServiceNow who had reached out to me regarding a Sr.Product Designer opening. Call went well and the team and wlb seem pretty decent but the base salary they mentioned for this role was 125-150K for Bay area. I almost cracked up on the call as even junior designers get paid more base than this nowdays. Can someone from ServiceNow confirm if this is true? Are your salaries lower than industry average? #ServiceNow #productdesign #ux
That sounds low for bay area base at SN. $150k should be the floor not ceiling. HR have the right data in front of them? We also have bonuses and RSU.
Should be $145K minimum for base, if not $175K
Did the recruiter tell you WLB is good? We always score very low on WLB in our employee survey . I would be more concerned about that.
Designer here 👋. Base is low but I wouldn’t take the recruiter’s advertised range as your final outcome. Depending on your experience, how well you do in interview and portfolio presentation, base range may be negotiated above range and it’s happened several times. RSUs and refreshers are worth $$ and may boost your TC to a competitive salary. As for WLB it’s all subjective to the team you join. Feel free to DM if you want clarity. TC 350k.

Thats the thing about ServiceNow, they almost always lowball you on base - however the RSU grants and refreshers are among the best for any enterprise SaaS company. So far, this formula has worked out well as the stock has gone up - but over the last year or so stock price hasn’t been increasing at the pace at which it did before
Formula is broken now
