I have been working in US from past 10 years but stuck in GC backlog and so want to permanently move to Canada. I am over 30 years and so hard to directly get the Canada PR. May I know, if there are any companies in Canada that sponsor Work VISA's? And is it possible to get a job in Canada while applying from US and will they honor remote interviews? Any thoughts/success stories on this will be really appreciated.
If you are less than 35, it shouldn’t be hard. If your spouse qualifies and is less than 35, he/she can be the primary applicant and you can tag along.
You can get a GC in 6 months via Express visa
My wife and I both are over 30. And the current cut off seems to be higher than our score.
Why does age matter? Don't know much about Canada visa.
You get more points to get PR if you are under 30.
Difference is only by 10 points at max
Did you also check region/state sponsorship? From what I know job without pr is tough (in terms of visa) i canada. Isnt 35 age cut off for good points?
There's 10 to 15 points diff between 30 and 35. It's just the current timing that the cutoff for the PR seems little higher. Not sure, if it goes down further. Whuch state is good for the region/state PR sponsorship?
It's called a province and yes can go the route of a provincial nomination - Google it.
Don't know your background or where specifically you are planning to move but if you are looking to move to Ontario, you can look at Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream. They have a list of professions they are targeting which includes software programmers. Once you get a nomination from a province, it boosts your score by 600 points which guarantees an ITA. P.S. I received my PR in Jan and will most likely move to Canada this year.
Thank you for your information. Should the PR holder stay in that providence despite having PR? And is there any specific consulting firm that you went through for getting the PR?
There is a minimum period of time you have to stay in the province that nominates you (I think 2 years but double check). Did everything myself, if you are looking for a consultant, look for someone with iccrc credentials. Better yet, do it on your own, it's not very hard
I know amazon in Vancouver hiring world across the globe. Please check it out. They do sponsorship as well
