Should I Quit my current marketing job and start prepping for swe?
TLDR/Short version:
I know basic web dev and algorithms. My current marketing job is very stressful and there is no room for growth.
I have 1.5 year worth living cost saved up so, Should I quit and go hard on swe? What’s the chance to get a remote job with more than $40k TC if someone codes 10 hours per day with full dedication for a year?

Hello Blind community!
My current job is in Marketing(non-tech) and it’s very stressful. Also the room for growth is not much. The platform where I am working currently has entered into plateau phase so it’s extremely difficult to grow and hit the quarterly targets. Total compensation: $24k
So I am thinking, should I quit and prep for swe for 1 year? Do you think it’s worth the risk?
I have 1.5 year worth of living cost saved up and if I reduce my monthly expense, that can last upto 2 years.
I have basic understanding of web development(html, css, js, CRUD app, OOP etc) and basic problem solving knowledge(DFS, BFS, Binary search, hash-map etc). But I really like software engineering.
Do you think in 1-1.5 year if I work hard and put 8-10 hours per day on swe, it will be enough to get me a remote software developer role that pays more than my current TC?
TC: $24k

Cause I’m not working on any real swe projects/company so getting real life experience would be hard.
Because if you want to switch as a swe, 90% of the weightage goes to leetcode. Start with this. If you feel comfortable, then you can atleast survive in this industry.
