I am new grade. I will graduate on May 2020. I got full time offer from Amazon. They are applying for H1B for this year based on my bachelor's degree. Many people told me that it's not a good option to apply for H1B on the basis of bachelor's degree and specifically when you have Master's degree. Amazon has told me that they will register my name in this lottery period starting from 1st March to 20 March. And after that from 1st April to 30th June, if I can provide them all documents including EAD card, masters degree, they can file H1 for this year, otherwise they can't. My concern is I am not sure whether I will receive my EAD card before 30th June. And if I can't get it on time, even when I get lucky in lottery, it will be wasted. And in either of the two cases I will loose my 1/3 chances of H1B. Thanks #h1b #newgrade #amzn
You should let them apply. There’s no harm in applying now if you’re able to provide the required documents. If you miss now you’ll have 2 more chances, so that extra chance is worth the effort.
Apply. As this would be extra chance. You will get 3 chances after this.
Yup. When I mentioned amazon in my post, I was actually referring to their immigration lawyer which is Fragomen. I have applied for my opt and most probably I will receive my EAD card before 30th june but there is no guarantee. But after I came to know that this is just an extra chance I am feeling relieved. I will apply ask them to apply for H1B based on my Masters degree.
You don't loose 1/3 chances.. The 3 chances come from the fact that you have 3 years opt. By doing this you are getting an extra chance.
Ohhk. Thanks. I misunderstood the chances logic.
