I got an offer from Microsoft a couple of months back and I gave them the joining date around third week of June. I am close to giving a 2 weeks notice to my team ( they might want to extend it slightly considering the dependency on me right now) but I haven’t had any conversation with the manager or recruiter at Microsoft for quite sometime now. All the legal formalities are done for transfer to the company but I am slightly nervous if they still want me in or not. I tried communicating with them but didn’t get any response( maybe they are busy somewhere). I don’t want to risk my current job by telling them I want to leave.

Has anyone been in such a situation? Are there any chances they might revert the offer?

IMO don't give notice till you have all the i's dotted and the t's crossed. You can always postpone the joining date by a week or two.

This. Make sure you still have the offer and a confirmed start date. After that, you can leave Cisco at any time. Two weeks is a nice, traditional time to give to Cisco, but it doesn’t have to be that long and you don’t have to extend longer, if you don’t want to.

I gave Microsoft a little less than 2 weeks when I left. They threw me a nice goodbye party and their recruiters still contact me.

Technically it’s at will without a contract, they can revert the offer anytime. The recruiter should reply back to you. Have you called the recruiter? Maybe email the manager?

If you are starting remote, then another way of asking is when/how the laptop will be shipped to you. You will get to know what’s happening

  • It's a weird scenario. We are looking for senior ppl and having had an accepted offer should be the end of it.

It's a shame that hiring manager or recruiter aren't responding if true. But I doubt that would mean any real concerns.

Another hiring manager here, and can't imagine above happening
