Currently, I am a wiz at AngularJS. I have been working with it for roughly two years. I am looking to stay relevant as a Full Stack Python/Django/JS dev with a heavy inclination for the front end. Between AngularIO and React, which one should I invest myself into for the long game of my career? No fanboys please. Try to be impartial in your responses.
React will dominate future than Angular..
why do you think so?
Coz react is way faster easier and futureproof ..
React is more flexible to use. For example can use react alongside other frameworks like angular or aurelia pretty easily. Maybe even try aurelia
Learn Scala and write stuff in scalajs
Both. I'd spend more time with React, but Angular2/4 isn't going to go away for the next couple of years so you'll end up companies who use it having it as "legacy" code.
good perspective
As a tech culture we're not always great at planning 5-10 years from now, so for myself when it comes to learning technologies I look at how the legacy code I'm modifying/slowly replacing (KnockoutJS) was a mainstay at some companies. Microsoft has all their tutorials with Angular + Typescript so you can assume that at least a % of Azure or MS Shops will have legacy Angular1, Angular2 and typescript applications that will have to be maintained down the road.
I would learn react simply because it is more different from what you know already. Understanding how to work in various paradigms i think is important.
This is good advce.
React fangirl over here!!!! Omgeeeee
why react, fangirl?
Experienced dev in both. Preference is react, enterprise is dumb and needs ng to function.
I'd almost suggest Angular because it's a more complete framework but... They need more smooth SSR and native app development ala React Native. They just need to took all that shit into a single, coherent, easy to use platform. I like some of the automatic optimizations Angular does - that you would have to do yourself otherwise.
Angular, everything you need right out of the box. Service worker, web workers, server side rendering all there. But best of all Typescript!!
