Should I move? Only 1 yr at my current job but got another offer with 60k more

Hello I don't work at wells fargo now. I work at midsize firm with 110k TC as a Sdet in san francisco. I only worked here for year now but I just got another offer from some insurance company with 170k tc for same position. I heard if u move to another company within a year, ur resume raises a red flag. Is it okay to move to another company after year? I feel like at my current place, I don't have a good potential to earn good salary. Even with promo at my current place, I don't think that level of salary will come. Thanks

Gonna be hard to find a good reason not to take a 50% pay bump. Don’t make 3 or 4 one year moves in a row. But one or two is not going to be questioned

Your resume will show that you make 170k and then you will take that offer and negotiate an even better offer at the next place. People only care if you can add more value to them than what they pay you. That's really it. Insecure companies will try to shame you into believing some bullshit lie that you have to stay a place longer than x years. Nobody cares. Do a good job wherever you are, kill it, and then people will love you, even if you leave again in a year. Conversely, stay at a place for 3 years and pledge your loyalty, and then get laid off if you didn't add enough value.

Thanks I feel like I'm also underpaid from my current position. I got in with that salary but later I figured everyone with my level and position gets 10k or 15k more than me. So I worked my butt of for year and made alot of accomplishment. I thought with splandid performance review and good trophies, I would get good raise and recognition. However manager came back with response saying we don't have money and I understand ur underpaid but we just cant do it now. I'm kinda disappointed on it. So that also made me to look for other places

Don’t ever give up opportunities that come your way. Nobody cares for how long you stayed at a job. I just joined a new job 5 months back and I was getting approached by companies non stop even after joining.

A few short terms are no problem; follow the money.

Don't worry about your resume. Just move and move up. It is going to take you 5 years to get this type of pump in salary. Definitely take it.

Be glad it's already a year. No one will even pause at that. It's not worth being underpaid. Without banking it, you'll not be able to take risks mid-career when you need to!

What everyone said. But one last thing. Dude, you don’t own the company. No loyalty is needed.
