I know there’s a lot of polls about this but I wanted to see what people think of it, so no poll this time.
Context: I have a new job offer in NYC and moving there is optional.
TC: 110k
YOE: 3
Age: 27
Friends: 0
I like bars, sitting by river/ocean contemplating ways to die, walking and I hate driving.
I currently live in a major city on the east coast and prefer to live in cities (for the public transport and connectivity, etc)
New TC: 240k (maybe more if I move to NYC)
#nyc
Edit: forgot to add this part feel free to digress and talk about why and what I can do for fun in NYC that I can’t do right here

there’s a group for every hobby/niche interest that you could imagine. join a run club, bowling league, pool league, bouldering, book club, rollerblade club, go to dark bushwick dungeon techno dance floors, go explore all the ethnic neighborhoods and the food options, date a shit ton, catch some STDs!
i love living here, the suburbs is where your soul goes to die. live life full-throttle 😌
I think very few people who grew up in European cities can put up with American suburbia...
I'm also a city person, the suburbs gave me a rash (mentally lol).
So, I say move. From my point of view.
You can do literally anything in NYC, and you can also leave at any point so why not try it?
That being said, dating might be better but it's not a walk in the park unless you're only looking for sex (maybe, that's how it felt to me). And making friends is hard, but you can always go to bars and have fun, and we have both beach and mountain access.
Don't contemplate ways to die though... :/
