Can I keep working while doing bootcamp or should I quit my current job first? What happens if after bootcamp I'm not able to find a team and I end up jobless?

Very little to no risk of not finding a team in Bootcamp. You have a full time job offer. It’s ok.

  • Lol we don't fire people if you don't have a team in bootcamp. You hang around and till you do. But honestly, it really doesn't happen.

  • You should quit your current job.

Bootcamp is just our fancy word for the onboarding process and team matching. While in Bootcamp you are an employee of Facebook. It’s best to use your bootcamp time to learn and absorb FB tech. As part of the process, after week 3 you’ll be sitting with teams every week until you find one you want to join. It’s a full time job.

How do you sit with teams virtually
      Aug 11, 2021
    • It’s definitely lamer than doing it in person. Typically you’ll get invited to all the team’s meetings during the week, spend some time working on the teams tasks, set up virtual 1:1s with all the engineers and managers and so on.

You’re the one in the driver’s seat when it comes to finding a good team. Basically you’re the one interviewing them. The point is to find one you’ll enjoy working on and be successful on.

  • That doesn’t happen, you’ll get placed.
