I’m in my mid twenties and have been smoking daily for about ten years now. Overall I’m pretty healthy and happy. I workout regularly, have hobbies I really enjoy and am happy with my career accomplishments so far. Ive always felt a little spacey though, and have always wondered if quitting smoking would make me sharper or more motivated, or if at this point any changes it has had on me are for the long term, for better or worse. So blind i ask yall, do you think smoking weed would be worth it? For context I smoke a small bowl every night, but dont really like smoking during the day even on weekends. And yes I posted this after smoking. Tc 190k, <2 yoe
Yes, you'll stop wasting time looking for your keys
Hahahah if that was a guarantee, quitting would become very enticing
Don't quit! Smoking weed keeps you cool!
Incorrect
This has no more to do with being cool than drinking regularly or a mild caffeine addiction
Sorry to be off topic, but what role exactly is paying 190k for less than 2 yoe?! Is that the norm at a company like Amazon?
It’s worth trying. It doesn’t take long for the build up in your body to deplete after you quit — maybe 2 weeks? I had some roommates that would do that just to reset their tolerance levels. I was in your position a long time ago, smoking daily, and I began to feel really depressed and scatter brained. Quitting was the best choice I made, although I’m still tempted to go back daily. I’m not a doctor so take this with a grain of salt, but I highly doubt smoking causes lasting damage to your brain. If you stop for long enough you’ll be back to normal. Just try it, you don’t need drugs.
Yea I’ve went a couple weeks when on vacation, and took a month off a few times during college when I was looking for internships. It really isn’t hard to do when I’m not at home but it’s super hard to break the habit in an environment where you are used to doing it. As far as tolerance goes, I smoke a small enough each day that my tolerance is actually quite low for how long I’ve been smoking.
Answer it for yourself. Look at people that smoke a small bowl every night - are they dumber, more lethargic, etc, for it? Look at larger populations and do the math. Maybe that’ll help. When I thought about trying it, I decided against. The folks I’ve interacted with and smoke are...slower. Not something that’ll help me keep sharp and fit — at least this is how I feel. Your mileage may vary!
Moderation is key to many things
Yeah you should definitely take a month off. It’s one of those things it’s got pros and cons. I struggle with that myself
Why would you need to quit for good? Maybe try not smoking for a couple days and see if you feel different. Or go travel to a country where weed isn’t available for a week and see how you feel. Then decide from there.
