Got an offer from aws. Interviewed for l5 but got l4 offer. Almost 3 years under azure, current l60, expect to be promoted to l61 in sep. TC can be higher than my current one. If it's l5, I will take it. But it's l4. Should I take it?
Not so many people do that. 5 years? You kidding
Are you learning anything new at your current role ?
Learning new things for what? Unless you use it in a big way in next two years, learning is useless. Think about what you learned two years ago and think of it helped building you a million dollar startup. If it didn't, learning was a waste. That's why one should never focus on learning new things which looking for a role. It's a kool-aid to make yourself feel better.
I can learn new things currently. But not satisfied with compensation.
I would suggest get to L61 if you’re close, that maps to amazon sde2. Interview again for higher level, and much higher comp.
Yeah that's what I think if I can't get l5 offer
Move to amazon and get promoted within 6 months
My guess is if you stay around for another year, next time you will be offered Lv5.
Same thing happened to me. A month goes by, they couldn't find a l4 role for me. So I never got an actual offer.
Come in as SDE II when you get to L61 and reinterview.
Don’t please don’t.
L4 is treated shit here
I’ve seen people with 5+ years experience take L4. What makes you so special?
^expect this if you join as L4. Bitterness is rampant here because of underlevelling.
^You must be a millennial. If you’re paid more but at a lower title, it’s an upgrade. Only kids think “CEO” of a lemonade stand translate to CEO of an actual company.
