My end goal is to move to states to work in the valley. Should I go for masters or try for FAANG and take a transfer. I don't want to leave my job and leave two years of salary and receive a loan to pay for my masters. My major is computer science. I am interviewing with FAANG, Uber, Microsoft, Atlassian Expected TC: 25 LPA Masters in the top 40.
Hard choice. With Masters, you would have a better idea about the timeline of things. Trying for a transfer would have more unknowns in my perspective. If loan is a worry, you may try for some less expensive universities and you can still interview with FAANG here in the US. Ultimately your masters just provides you with an F1 visa and a chance of 3 years of work visa based on STEM OPT
You can do an online masters part-time while working. Not expensive too - OMSCS is about $7k, a bargain
If you wanna come to USA do a masters degree due to the preference you will get for h1b and green card
OP is Indian. So forget about GC.
State university are cheap
First try to get job then post
Work for your master
