Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
Hi, I interned at amazon this past summer and am fortunate enough to have gotten a return offer for another internship (im a rising 3rd year). That being said, ive been researching whether or not i should look around or take the return offer. I have until october 1 to decide and just some context, amazon was and is the only interview ive had. Im not sure if i was just lucky last year so i dont really want to push my luck. I really enjoyed my team (was with alexa shopping) and the work i did but i spoke to people on the team and new grads i know and the consensus im getting is that i should really try and apply for other companies so that i can diversify my experience and resume. Anyone have any thoughts? Should i play it safe and take the return offer or should i play my chances and try other companies? #swe #internship #amazon
Take the return offer, keep hustling and grinding there always something better than where you are.
You probably will not be able to start and finish interviews in a month, so accept the offer. But once you do that you should definitely interview at as many companies as you can. You’ll get a sense of how much money you can get at different companies, and also potentially find a much better job. If that happens you’ll have a difficult decision: should you renege on Amazon? It’s hard to give advice now, but if you’re looking at a job offer for 150k more than Amazon is offering you and the team looks more interesting, you’ll probably know what to do, and be happy that you continued to interview.
Take the return offer but keep your eye out for other opps. Always have your own best interest in mind. We will understand an early renege and it is not a big deal. Alexa shopping is not known to be a great org (but glad to here your experience was good). Sometimes it is relative though... definitely see the grass elsewhere if you can
100% take the return offer. And interview elsewhere with the confidence that you have an offer to fall back on should things go wrong
