Should there be a reviews site to avoid racist establishments?

Heard from coworker that she was denied service at a winery in Napa Valley because they were Asian. -they booked under her half white friend’s name -showed up and front desk was flustered and decided to put them in furthest spot -all the tables they walked past stopped talking and stared at them -no service for 20min -when asked for service, server said they weren’t comfortable servicing them -limo driver hung around predicting this would happen given the winery’s reputation -review bombs were removed from Yelp because the winery paid for negative review removal Thoughts?

You can name them here. I'll check it out when I am tired of Trader Joe's cashier's fake smile..

Sounds like a platform for racketeering

Microsoft warlock OP Jul 26, 2018

A friend was denied service at a half empty restaurant in Amsterdam. Reason: “because it’s you”. Wouldn’t you want to know where to avoid?

Citibank blarganzu Jul 26, 2018

Yes I grasp the idea of your post. How would your proposed platform prevent racketeering? It seems inherently vulnerable to it.

That's crazy, I am surprised there isn't a website for this and I don't see how Yelp can support such behavior.

Yelp is known for removing reviews. I heard a case where their reason for removing a review was because it was a “customer service issue”. Uhh, I thought that’s what reviews are for I use foursquare or tripadvisor exclusively. Also because they provide reviews globally like in Turkey and Vietnam. Whereas yelp is only available in 32 countries.

Trip advisor removed my review and ignored my appeals. Seems like all platforms are the same:/

What makes you think race was the reason you were treated poorly? Maybe they just suck at customer service

Microsoft warlock OP Jul 26, 2018

Because the limo driver catering to the bachelorette party has encountered similar situations at that winery when minorities visited. And the winery first tried to pay her friend to remove the yelp review and wrote in email asking which group out of the groups they recently kicked out were. So it’s a frequent occurrence

No one can remove reviews.. period.
