I live in downtown Seattle. I always see many homeless people around. Sometimes they beg for a dollar. Should I give them a dollar? Last month, I have seen some homeless people taking drugs early in the morning. I don't think all of them are drug addict. How do they manage food and other expenses? Does government pay them some money every month?
No. Don’t support the homelessness industry.
No. Save the money for more tips.
Tips sucks in US, people think of it as a given. In Europe, you should work your ass off to get tips and that makes more sense to me
And in Asia, there's no tip culture but employees work their ass off. You don't tip the delivery man or the waiter or the taxi driver or anyone really. And you never have to wait more than a few minutes no matter what you order.
If you want to donate, give it to a reputable charity.
No. If you’re feeling generous, just tip more. Or donate to a charity (which your employer may even match).
Buy them food if they are hungry but don't give them money.... most of them use it on drugs
Homeless people have always turned down food when i offer. Even when the signs say “anything helps”.
How would you manage if you only ever got food? No place to stay, no soap, no toothbrush, no socks, no shower, not even any Goodwill clothing? I'd rather them buy drugs and necessities, they'll be better off.
How do you know they don’t use socks for masturbation
When i get rid of my socks, they are holey.... woth a large hole. Socks don’t need to look nice
Just remember that people do what you pay them to do.
My employer comps $275/yr to give to them.
Donate to a rehab, not the addict
I gave 20 bucks to a lady a few days ago. She asked for more and didn’t even say thanks.
Can you help me pay off my student loan instead? Working a second job at night to cover my ass
Same, gave a crying woman a $20. Next day she was there crying again.
