How much is the typical sign-on bonus for senior SWE roles at FB, say E6 or E7?
What's the reason for the sign on? Delta between current comp and proposed comp? Significant stock walk away? Relocation? Many factors involved here. Sign on bonuses aren't given just because.
Stock walkaway -- Isn't this true in all cases except new grads ? The candidate in question will be working somewhere and will obviously have unvested RSUs. BTW, what is the justification for large signons for new grads ?
That's why we switched to quarterly vest schedule with no cliff. Sign on for new grads is to make their decision easier between so many competing companies.
They aren’t a guarantee, the recruiter will ask for a justification. The last two people I know who negotiated with FB didn’t get them. Increases in base and RSUs, but no sign on.
