I recently moved from California to Washington after being hired by Amazon. In my first pay check I saw my signon bonus was taxed in California as well. I paid a good sum as income tax in California even after moving to Washington. Is that normal ? If not what should I do ?
Talk to your payroll dept and let them know you are no longer a resident of California and they should not have been able to tax you. You may need to update your address with them to Wa.
Yep, ca will also tax the next 4 years of your rsus as well. They tax where the earning occured.
California be like: We will tax the sh!t out of you.
You may leave California, but California will never leave you.
Lol, this cracked me up!
And your citizenship too. You are taxed every corner!
Everything is taxed in California!
