Found out a few interesting facts from the inside: apparently since Kurian moved to Google, the culture/structure etc of GCP has become similar to that of Oracle. Some specific instances include bringing on a lot of former Oracle cloud staff (especially SWEs) and changing the sales team quarterly bonus structure to be similar to that of Oracle. So GCP employees - do you notice any other changes that are directionally similar to the culture/structure/workflows etc at Oracle? And zooming out, what does this mean for the future trajectory of GCP?
Yes, according to practically all Cloud employees in the Google lounge on Blind. It is a truth acknolwedged universally, by both the ones who love it as well as those who hate it.
Can you elaborate what you mean
Can you use English?
There is a reason they brought him. Wish he fires a few SJW's.
I want to apply for GCP CE and Iβm interested on that too. Additional questions: 1) Whatβs like working at GCP vs other Google orgs? I read comments here that culture is suffering because of crazy growth. 2) Is it true that Kurian moved to GCP and brought bad culture/people from Oracle?
Bringing some people or culture from Oracle isn't necessarily a bad thing. It adds that enterprise customer focused culture to Google's culture which GCP desperately needs.
