Walmart Global Services - Charlotte, NC I was called into an office several weeks ago and given a letter stating my position had been eliminated due to corporate restructuring. About 40 people had similar meetings. The pluses were still getting my bonus, plus getting a severance, being kept on the payroll for 60 days and help finding a new position. Not a bad deal. Yet, several remaining employees told me that the director of the center went floor to floor telling people that all of us were let go because of performance. I had no disciplinary actions, write-ups or coachings. What happens if someone sees this position on my resume and they happen to know someone who still works there. The recruiter calls the employee who tells them I was fired for performance. This lie can affect my ability to find work. I thought about sending an email to the center director or calling the Ethics hotline but retaliation is real and I don't want to jeopardize my bonus or severance.
Who gives a fuck what they say if you are good at what you do and build your brand has 0 impact. Your previous employer can share your performance history with a recruiter
The again we all know why you were the one picked to be RIFed. So don’t make a big deal out of it and try to find some place where they would ignore your history. 🍆
It wasn't about me, I'm already interviewing for better. My post was to point out the highly unethical behavior and comments of the Director who runs the center. I'm good and always will be.
The letter is the important part but report the manager. Ideally, they address the lies (unlikely) but it might get him fired
Stupid manager, when the words got out 40:1 he will be the one who won't find a job.

Meta managers are the worst technically
The letter trumps anything the manager goes around saying. They probably should have been riffed. What an asshole.
