I can't fall asleep easily and can't wake up easily. I never feel sleepy unless I'm +3h the last time I fell asleep. It's like my internal day is longer than it should be. I'm dragging this problem since VERY early in my life. No one really ever takes me serious about this. All I get is "go early to sleep". Now that work life has started I'm searching professional help, but so far the first doc I saw told me to go early to sleep (what a joke...) and told me to use benadryl when struggling. Benadryl does work and is awesome... for that occasional use. It doesn't fix anything though. Deep breathing, light bulbs that turn on in the morning, making room super dark, listening to boring stuff on YouTube, being strict with myself, going super early to bed, getting out of bed if not asleep in 20min. Tried it all: nothing works in the long run. Anyone got something else / been in a similar situation for +5 years?
Look into military sleeping techniques. Imagine you are in a canoe, floating in a tranquil lake...
Exercise in the evening... and exercise to the point that you drop dead tired. Your body will automatically pass out.

This. Or at least walk for a couple miles
Been in similar situation. Exercising helped a lot.
Start exercising 3x a week
ASMR
I had sleeping issues for ~20 years, I went a year ago to a sleep consultant that suggested: * Staying away from screens 1 hour before sleeping * Writing a journal about trobuling thoughts * Avoid drinking coffee/tea/cola * Avoid having busy days (back2back meetings) * Try mindfulness app I still cant believe it, but - only the mindfulness app worked. 10-15 minutes before sleeping. I started falling asleep immidiately, remembering dreams again and wakimg up fresh. Bare in mind - I was super anti mindfulness /mediations things, but if it works it works.

Gonna look into journal and mindfulness. App for later installed now. Thanks! The other points in itself haven't done much in the past, but will try out in combination with this.
Last night I couldn't fall asleep, got up, ate a good meal, went to bed, fell asleep in 5min. ^^
Sometimes a big filling meal will also do the trick :)
What NFS said above. Also, it's possible to try going to bed later / getting up later. It's possible that you're just a night owl.
That would be great... if I didn't feel like everyone will judge me at work.
Why would they judge you? Are you in one of the sadistic teams that schedules meetings before 11 AM? Otherwise, they should mind their own business. Everyone peaks at different times of the day, and if your peak is in the evening, going to work early is a waste
