Trying to quit - only trigger point happens at work. Those who were successful how did you quit? Do not recommend Vaping cuz I don’t wanna die either way.
Go to CVS and buy nicotine lozenges.
Change the reaction to trigger. I went for 2 minute sprint whenever I had the urge to smoke.
Similar-I got a glass of water. Water as replacement for cigarettes might seem silly but for me it was all about the trigger and the oral fix.
@Indeed, did it help? How long did it take?
I was able to quit after my smoking buddy left the company.. I guess my addiction was the social part.
Did u get them fired 🤨
Hahahahaha love it! I don’t have any “smoker” buds as such - and I am avoiding knowing such company.
I don’t smoke so I have no ideas. I would say not having the cigarettes or vape but maybe it’s too hard to just cut it like that? Maybe eat something healthy or take a walk when you have the urges. Do u eat healthy now?
Thank you for offering to help - even if you a non-smoker. I do eat healthy. I don’t have any after meal cravings but just that one cigarette right after I get my plans for day in place in the first half of morning is what I need to break.
Get a coffee or get a breath of fresh air. Replace it with something else. If it needs to be a snack or soda from the vending machine, it's better than a smoke at least.
I would say reduce it slowly ...count your cigarettes and divide it up for a day ...and reduce the counter gradually..I switched to vaping, which helped with the addiction where I could just turn on and off a switch by taking a quick puff.. eventually I joined gym and i quit vaping ..vaping helped me a lot because my addiction was not tobacco but the need to smoke after a certain interval of time..another tip is find non smoking friends and hang out with them ..you will find it weird to smoke in front of them
Nice! So did regular gym going affect a change and helped u completely stop?
Yes. initial gym days were painful because of lack of stamina, short of breath etc ..but that reminded me every time not to smoke..gym is a great motivation because you feel the pain and realize smoking is not good for health..you can either do cardio or Marlboro 😁
Take your smoke break, but don't smoke. The whole ritual is addictive, not just the cigarette. Keep going outside, but pick a different location and... Take a cup of coffee. Have a little snack. Walk around the building. Play a game of candy crush. Do a bunch of pushups. Whatever. Try reforming your smoke break into a smokeless break with some other mind-clearing ritual so you can then attack your day
I can not emphasize enough what nzfX62 said. It is a ritual that is addictive. Do that but don't smoke.
Get a wife who'll kick your ass for smoking
eat something when you crave for a cigarette. Also make note of days you did not smoke on an calendar. Stick that on your desk. Set a goal to have 30 continues non smoking days
U r gonna die either way. We all are.
Not me
Right we all except Abbott. Accept my apologies.
