How does Director @ Snap compare with Director @ Netflix and Amazon L7 (non tech) in terms of senority, scope and compensation? Which of these three would you choose if you had a choice? I value stability and growth as well as WLB and comp. Not getting clarity on levels.fyi TC = 370K -current L7 at Amazon Interviewing with Snap and Netflix. No offer yet. Pls explain your choice in comments.
I think L7 at Amazon maps to L6 at Snap, which is 2 levels lower than Director. TC is likely at least double.
There's so many companies going into the streaming services, I'm not sure if they'll scale like Netflix, but it might be dicey. I think snap is fine, but just doesn't compare to Amazon
Those choosing Netflix Director, is high comp the main reason? Wouldn’t Snap pay as much? Isn’t nflx hire and 🔥?
Director level salary is similar everywhere but I don’t think l7 maps to that. L8 is. I would not go down to Netflix EM(tc north of 550k) - try to get google l7 or Facebook m2 instead with 650+ total comp How many yoe btw? You can probably aim for director level at LinkedIn
Guess no takers for Snap. Won’t Snap Director (L8) be a step up for me given I’m L7 at Amazon. In terms of scope, prestige and comp?
you don't know how this stuff works. Amazon's levelling system is completely different than other companies. Amazon starts at L4, (most) other companies start at L3. Amazon L7 = L6 at other companies. At most companies, director is L8. Therefore you are an L6 applying for L8 roles. You are unlikely to get these roles unless you are severely underlevelled for your yoe.
I mean yeah you can do more at snap, but do you want to? I've actually hung out with a director at snap because of a common friend and they didn't have a good thing to say about the company.
Snap director is higher than Amazon L7. Not sure Netflix though. To be honest, I moved from Amazon to Snap and didn't like at all. Would strongly discourage you to move unless it's for the Seattle team, and to work for a very specific guy. Pm me Holy shit are you product? Never seen L7 non tech more than 300k at Amazon, unless manager of L7's
Could you elaborate? Currently considering Sn*p vs. Squ*re vs. Robl*x L7
Is G L7 same as amz L7? Check out this post! "At which level does Twitter surpass $750k TC. (Tech Careers)" https://us.teamblind.com/s/FQQTd7zM
