Hi guys/gals! I’m working towards joining a marketing team at an amazing social media company and (hopefully) about to start the interview process. I don’t have a marketing background but my experience in business analytics translates very closely to the role. I get to work alongside c-level sales executives and use data to tell stories that help drive conversations. (What’s most important to the customer, how can we target incremental sales growth / new business, etc) Any general or specific tips you could share around marketing or sales? Some insights that would help: - What top priorities drive sales within social media marketing? - Insights on how universities use social media (example: how they target & engage their future students and alumni) - General marketing tips from a day-to-day perspective using data storytelling - How do you measure your marketing success? Any advice and tips contribute directly to making a dream happen, so Thank You!!
Attribution analysis is everything today. Be able to show current knowledge about how it’s done and how it relates to sales and you’ll be golden.
Was checking this thread almost after 2 years. OP, would you like to share or answer these questions based on your experience so far? Appreciate your response.
1) I don’t understand your first question 2) universities use social media to get more emotional attachment from their alumni. This could be from the various sports teams, and alumni events 3) you just need to show the regular stats around share of voice, social media impressions, Instagram posts, etc. 4) see 3.
Thank you for the feedback!
