Some advice to folks between 20-30 years old

Sep 17, 2019 10 Comments

1. Keep on learning, learn Leetcode, learn system design, learning ood, learning softskills.
2. Understand how to deal with politics, politics exists everywhere, Im glad that MSFT is one of the most political places in all tech companies. So I learn a lot.
3. Never settle, always chase a higher position, a higher tc. The earlier u accumulate the better chance that u will be a lifetime winner.

Once u enter your 30s, have family and kids, u will know that ur time will be greatly reduced, so it will become even harder for u to climb your career or make more money.

Oracle is a mix of ex-Amazon and ex-MS people. So it totally makes sense to have the worst of both companies, considering it's not advancing much.

And it’s in decline. The OCI shit seems like a shark tank.

Honestly, I think leetcode is an excellent way to teach people some computer science concepts. The problems don't require much if any background knowledge and are an interesting intro to a fun part of being a software developer.
