Noticed that splunk has sustaining engineer positions, also have QA and software engineer positions. Is sustaining job a good one to consider?
It's a software engineering job. Lotta customer escalations / bug fixing / diagnosing-debugging
Do you enjoy bug fixing, working on customer issues? Then sustaining. You want to develop new features? The other engineering roles allow you to do that
Stay away from sustaining! Shittiest management ever.
Not the most exciting of places but still a ok place to get into kick ass company

I haven’t done shit today!
I was a sustaining engineer for the top rival product of Splunk. It's purely doing bug fixes and occasional customer escalations. You won't be developing new features but it can be interesting if you enjoy bug fixing. Also if you get a job there please DM and refer me lmao
Arcsight?
Yup, are you there as well?
