So, I interviewed with Splunk and got a call from recruiter that they are extending an offer to me. we got on a call, and she presented some low ball numbers 230k i think. i told her this offer is not even matching my current comp at cisco and also the other offers i had. After that the recruiter didn’t contact me at all. I replied after 1 week and she said what happened to other onsite interviews that i had scheduled? It looked like she wanted me to say I have no other offers. And after that she stopped responding complelely. Is this how most recruiters are?? I would expect that they should atleast come back and say its the money or something. this was very unprofessional. I spent my time to take their phone interview, took a day off for onsite. I expected they will at least inform me that they cannnot meet the comp expectations. TC: 275K
Funny how this is so common and yet in every AMA by recruiters on Blind, they claim to never ghost people.
Dos and donts in Ideal vs Real is a better AMA.
Splunk has a hiring freeze for this quarter
But ghosting is not OK in any case
I'm currently interviewing and the process started a month back and I have had 4 interviews in which 3 where zoom video and one telephonic. I am still waiting for the recruiter to tell me the result.. and this is still not the end of the interview process..
I would say hold on and wait and see.. keep searching
You are too expensive for them, they just would not rather waste time and money. But yeah ghosting should never happen anyway.
I think they shouldn’t have wasted my time calling me onsite. Also the ghosting happened after I told them my current comp.
Splunk is terrible. One friend had an intern offer rescinded because he asked them to match an offer paying $5/hr more
How much are they paying?
Damn. That's pretty shitty of a place. I know most recruiters would just say "this is the best we can do. Take it or leave it." But rescinding for just negotiating? Fuck that noise.
If the offer was too low (lower than your current), why even bother waiting for them? You should feel good that you rejected their lowball offer. If they want you, trust me they will come back. I’m hoping by then you will have a even bigger offer so that you can tell them, “sorry, too late”!! Good luck, I’m sure you get one soon!!
Well I did actually, just waiting for them to come back. So I can say no 😜
Hi, this happened to me as well. I tried to negotiate and the offer became pretty good. However, they replied quite a while and I finally accepted their good offer. Hopefully you don’t get ghosted
