A friend of mine that joined over a year ago got RSUs and not options. Are you sure they gave out options a few months ago?

Spotify is awesome. They need to be more like Netflix though and start producing their own content. It's probably pretty tough to do so, but that staretgy seems to be paying off for others.
The best singers have significant interests in having as many audiences as possible and not exclusive to certain service. So that they can have a concert etc. This is very different from TV business.
