What would be good in your resume( in terms of opening doors in future etc) ? Spotify vs Uber ? Both offers almost same. SWE TC: 198k
Prestige chaser
Just curious where this Spotify offer is located? I really want to get into Spotify
The job titles at Spotify are... interesting
Both are good brands on your resume. I wouldn’t personally differentiate between both the companies if I received a resume. I would take the decision based on the work profile. If everything else is equal, I would give Uber a slightly upper edge because of stronger engineering talent and possible growth opportunities. Btw - Daniel Ek (Spotify founder/ceo) was responsible for Dara to take up the position of Uber CEO! Before thinking about prestige alone, may be pay attention to this fact too.
Thank you burn it down!
Why do people like Uber? Personally, I'd rather join Spotify (assuming equal pay)
I find the engineers there quite talented and the management very supportive. It reminds me very much of Facebook to be honest.
I am very surprised that the offer you received from Uber is almost the same as what Spotify gives. Spotify TC isn't usually in that range. Regardless, congrats on both! For what it's worth you should base it on what you'll be working on at either company. Sure on the outside looking in Uber boasts the better eng/tech branding. However, if you're working on products that are meh and not technically challenging to you then you're hurting yourself more in the future when it comes to "opening more doors" than whatever company a recruiter is looking to poach from.
I didn’t do well in Uber interview. They lowballed me.
Thank you ayah
I agree with the sentiment of Uyah. In terms of resume both are equivalent. I would go with the more interesting team.
Uber 100%. Much larger scale.
