Square L4 or Google L3 or Facebook E4 offers

Square: ~240-250k. Unsure what the breakdown is so far. Facebook: ~270k. 170/350/50 breakdown. Google: TBD Curious what you all think. Taking into consideration growth, work life balance, and long term compensation. If you would please comment why, that’d be great. Thanks all! YoE: 3 TC: 170k Location: New York Edit: Took FB offer

Obvious choice but the poll is wrong

Amazon ¯|_(ツ)_|¯ OP Jun 17, 2021

What’s wrong with the poll?

Facebook mPaq79 Jun 17, 2021

Nothing, it shot up from 7-2 in favor of Square to 8-7 in favor of FB in the last minute

20k is worth the extra quality of life you'll have at square instead of working at the sweatshop that is Facebook. But either way interview at Lyft and we'll pay you more than either of those for t4😉

Hahah y’all wouldn’t pick up my resume :(. I even reached out to some recruiters. I kinda agree with the WLB too… thanks for commenting btw!

Hey how was ur team match process w google?

Amazon ¯|_(ツ)_|¯ OP Jun 17, 2021

Haven’t matched yet lol….

Google Tali Jun 17, 2021

level-wise, you are probably being down-leveled at google (either by the recruiter or you perhaps didn't do so great on one of the interviews). See https://www.levels.fyi/?compare=Google,Facebook,Amazon&track=Software%20Engineer for level comparisons. Ask recruiter if they can consider you for L4--though they might ask for one more interview.

Yeah, I suspect it was my behavioral round where I didn’t discuss my system design experience enough AND I wasn’t tested on it. However, I think I was a pretty strong interviewee, not to sound like I’m bragging. Here was my last post about my Google experience: https://us.teamblind.com/s/1xkDj36t. There must’ve been stuff tested that wasn’t just communication, and getting the answer right. I didn’t discuss alternatives enough or explain why I chose a solution. I went with the optimal solution going into the problem. 3/4 codings were graphs and it’s kinda obvious to know whether you need BFS or DFS based on the question. I did ask my recruiter for L4 but she wouldn’t budge on it unfortunately. I actually mentioned I was aiming for L4 multiple times throughout the process.

Was the FB offer an initial offer or with negotiation? What was the initial offer

Amazon ¯|_(ツ)_|¯ OP Jun 22, 2021

That was the initial.

I’m not sure if I could’ve gotten more, but I did try.
