Square is laying off a group working on the Square App (Fraud). They are outsourcing to St. Louis bc they no longer want to pay decent wages to their bay area workers. Anyone hear about this?

Not saying tech bubble. I'm saying bay area bubble. Wages and cost of living have outstripped the benefits of being in the region. We will see many more of these relocations in the next 2 years.

Typically reorgs donโ€™t make the news, so probably not. Relocation packages were offered to any (very few) affected employees to transfer anywhere, not just STL. Nothing is being โ€œoutsourcedโ€, which implies a third party... these roles are staying within the company.

Square has its niche, but I think Stripes highs are higher than Square as brick and mortar shops continually close.

Square sucks at API/SDK and continues to suck in it. Stripe is set up for a very bright future.
