I recently had my 1st technical interview with Square. Fingers crossed they let me advance 🤞 What is the format of Square’s final interview for SWE? I know there’s a system design problem, but what else?
2 coding, 1 design, 1 behavioral, 1 leadership (at least for L5 and above), and chat with EM.
What is the level of coding questions are asked at Square?
The 1 behavioral people are telling about is actually an additional system design. It’s past experience system design. Make sure to talk about a big project you contributed to directly and what your role is.
It’s past experience Q&A, not system design
Yes, it’s called that but we evaluate how well designed their past systems are and how well the candidate understand the design or how they contributed to it.
In my case I had 2 phone screens, even though the first one went well. So that might be the next step.
Did you end up making the onsite?
Yeah I had the onsite this week.

Why no one cares about the lives lost in Gaza, Israel and busy in their own lives?
Most likely will be 3 coding rounds, 1 system design, 1 behavioral/experience round and hiring manager chat
Thanks! Did you use CoderPad for all 3 coding rounds, or could you use your local IDE (and screen share)?
Yes you will use Coderpad or some equivalent where you can compile & run your code
