I got feedback for my Square interview and it was very confusing. Recruiter said that my interviews went well and he does not have any negative feeback as such except for architectural interview where they had some concerns. She mentioned even though they had some concerns but still it was not a ‘no hire’ performance . But she told me that the team I was interviewing for found a better candiate suited for specific skills they were looking for but she will pass my interview packet around to see if any other team is interested. Is it just some suger coated way of rejection by square or is there still some hope? Asking because I really liked the company and had great interview experience with them YOE-6 TC-230k #engineering #software #square
Sounds like the truth tbh... teams generally get a collective hard on for the obscure clone of an open source tech they and the potential slave is working on...
It’s not a sugar coat! Hm found another candidate with a slight edge. Hope for the best
Same thing happened to me. I ended up picking an even better team
I had kinda similar experience where the team I interviewed for offered the position to someone else. I ended up talking to 2 other hiring managers and picked one out of those two. So I would say there is still some hope.
Thanks everyone for your responses. Its quite encouraging and looks like there is some hope :)
What type of position are you looking for? Lots of teams at Square are still hiring.

Why is our country owned by Israel? I don't want my tax dollars fund genocide. How can we stop this nonsense?
There’s no need for them to sugarcoat things, they reject candidates all the time. It’s what she said, they found better match for that team, so they’ll pass you to other teams with your positive interview feedback
