I have an offer for Home Depot's home decor and furniture e-commerce in Atlanta. Role would be of Senior Product Manager but no direct reports right now. 140k base/ 15k sign on/ 10% annual bonus / 10% stocks with heavy cliff restrictions/ fully paid relocation. How does this compare with the market? Paysa and payscale did not have good insights. What pieces I can negotiate? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for sharing this link. There is an LCA record that shows someone got recruited for manager, product management with 154k base. Wonder how I can bring that into my negotiation plot. Share the info directly ?
Tell them you have a competing offer, but you like this role, if they ask for offer details, tell them I cant share that, but when you come back with a number in line with that i will let you know. Also, you can ask recruiter what's the max range for this position, and tell them i would feel set up for success if i come in at the higher end. I used these techniques for my own negotiation, with success.
That's a lot of money for Atlanta, you'll save much more and live like a king/queen (no assuming genders)
It is a king :-) But I think Atlanta has gotten expensive over the last few years. Of course not a bay area. From the link above looks like they have offered 154k base in Nov 2018 for Manager, Online Product Management. This is equal to their senior product manager role.
Other than rent, is anything else significantly cheaper in Atlanta compared to the Bay?
This is a fantastic offer that’s a little above average for this role. But as with all offers, there’s no issue in negotiating. Asking for $10k more should be doable.
Asking for 10k more on the base ? Senior Product manager and Manager, Online Product Management are equivalent roles is what I am told. Is that true? From the link above it looks like they offered a base of 154k to someone last fall for Manager, Online Product Management. There r a few 145k base offers too that I can see.
I just moved from Atlanta a few months ago you will live like a king.
The Manager, Online Product Management is higher than a senior product manager role. At Home Depot the hierarchy goes: -Associate product manager -Product manager -Senior product manager -Manager of product management -Senior Manager of product management -Director of product management It wouldn’t hurt to ask what’s the pay range for the position you’re applying for
You will not vest with the stocks until you have completed your 3rd year of employment. Also, the annual bonus is not a guaranteed 10%. You get bonuses twice a year and it can range from 3-5% based on how the the company did in earnings. Many people that I have spoken with said that their bonuses were 2%, so a total of 4% for the annual bonus. Just sharing this as an FYI.
This is every good to know. I am told I vest 50 % stocks after 2 years and 50% after 4 years. Bonus being at 4% annually is news to me. 155k base is a good place to start to mitigate for all these gaps
10% for the cash bonus is annualized. You get 3.5% in September and 6.5% in March. It’s subject to company performance, but we’ve been 98% of target or higher (can go over 100%) for the last 8 years or more. Stock is given in March and can be anywhere from 7% to 20% of your base depending on your personal performance. If owning a house is important to you, the buying power in Atlanta is at least 3-4x the Bay Area.
At the Senior Product Manager level, your bonus should be 10%. Below that level, your bonus can be only 4%. If this is the Online team, then yes, Senior Product Manager and Manager, Product Management are equivalent.
Yep this is online team. So senior product manager and Manager, product management, as you shared. They have hired someone last fall for Manager, Product Management for 154k base and I was trying to aim for it. Just not sure how to bring that point to the negotiation table.
For Atlanta that's really good pay take it
Current TC or GTFO
About 10% less for current TC. I wanna bench mark this new offer with the market.
^ Spill it. What's the current base, stocks & bonus. You are leaving anyways, but your info might help others around here
