Will be joining Google India as L4. TC offered : base 34.5L, RSU: 115K
I'm currently working as an SDE2 at Uber for over a year. YOE: 5
I've been told that I'm being hired at the top of the band and I can expect promo within 2 years. I know recruiters overstate all the times, hence turning to Blind.
1- Is the recruiter bluffing about TC band? Is there significant room for negotiation?
2 - How long, on an average, it would take to reach next level?
3- Is it worth pursuing L5, both in terms of pay as well as responsibilities you get?

1. It is not top of band
2. There is no such thing as fast promo at Google

Arent you getting any sign on bonus? And what’s the annual bonus percent
Median time for 4-5 is about 2 years (note the survivorship bias, though) but you would need some time to ramp up as well (to both Google and project -- and chances are, you might not be joining an established team given a lot of teams hiring are new).
