How often should you ping your recruiter?

Jun 4, 2021 6 Comments

I interviewed for Facebook a month ago. I waited a little over a week before pinging them. My recruiter told me that she will have more info in 2 days top so I waited for 3 days and pinged back when she told me another 4 days for info. Waited 6 days, got said 4 more days, waited 8 days and now thinking on pinging again. Apparantly I am at the stage where Hiring Manager has to give her confirmation so she can tell me the details of the offer. I kind of feel bad for having to ping so many times but on the other hand its really strange situation
What do you think?

There isn’t a right or wrong answer in-general but the key is how you maintain ur posture.. You shouldn’t seem desperate at the same time show ur enthusiasm.. Having said that, between 2 “pings” I would leave a week perhaps.. Choose ur ping days (avoid Mondays.. Fridays are usually preferable).

Creating some level of urgency on their end may work too.. Like a competing offer which usually speeds up things.. At that time if they are really interested in you, would provide some kind of a timeline..

I know hiring surge is happening in most companies & recruiters are juggling thru a lot of things.. Have you read thru glassdoor or somewhere on how long does it take ?. Also did you check ur application status in their recruiting website ?.
