Starbucks' Problem
Too much money in app development and store info and not enough money keeping the talent that is leaving the SSC. Starbucks is stuck in a rut and the only way out is to unload long term partners... And stop spending money on internal solutions when there are companies that already produce what has taken too long to build in house i.e. Conference room systems. Starbucks can't support their own weight.
The problem isn't the money, it's the sprawl. There's a huge amount of tech people at Starbucks and management doesn't encourage engineers to be evangelistic about their work. Theres also a lack of technical vision spanning the various teams.
You guys need to focus on coffee not tech.
The stupefying amount of money being made seems to indicate that the coffee is "good enough".

Starbucks in general is struggling to understand their own incompetence. The tech organization leadership is in a god pod and while they have no idea what the tech is their people are implementing they are willing to fund it in the guise of external contractors doing the actual work. Culture eats strategy for breakfast
I think your problem is not getting paid enough. Two options make case to Starbucks to raise your salary or get out of Starbucks. Blind isn't a complain forum, that can resolve your issue.
